Group Therapy & Workshops

Group services provide opportunities for individuals to learn, reflect, and grow in a supportive community setting. Groups can help reduce isolation while offering shared understanding, new perspectives, and practical coping strategies.

Crossroads may offer small therapeutic groups, psychoeducational workshops, and peer-support gatherings focused on topics such as:

  • ADHD parenting strategies and family support

  • Grief and trauma recovery support

  • Young adult connection and life transition groups

  • Caregiver support and burnout prevention

  • Stress management and emotional resilience

Group sessions are typically held in person, with virtual participation available during the winter season when needed. Group offerings are announced periodically based on community interest.

Individual therapy

Individual therapy offers a supportive and confidential space to explore life challenges, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Sessions are tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals, and may focus on areas such as stress, anxiety, trauma recovery, identity exploration, relationship concerns, or life transitions.

Crossroads Counseling works with young adults (18+) and adults, providing thoughtful and individualized care grounded in trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.

Clients may choose in-person sessions at the Woodstock, Connecticut office or secure virtual sessions, depending on their preferences and needs.

Creative Reflection Space (Art Room)

Crossroads Counseling offers access to a quiet Creative Reflection Space designed for clients who find relaxation, focus, and emotional expression through creative activities. Some individuals process thoughts and emotions more easily when their hands are engaged in calming, creative work.

Clients may choose to spend time in the art room before or after sessions, or during scheduled creative reflection time, using activities such as:

Painting or drawing

Adult coloring or paint-by-number projects

Knitting or fiber crafts

Puzzles and mindful activities

Diamond painting or small creative projects

Gardening or planting activities

Personal creative projects brought from home

Relaxing sound exploration using a panda drum or other calming instrument

A selection of basic creative supplies is available, and clients are also welcome to bring their own materials to work on while using the space.

This area is intended to provide a peaceful environment for reflection, relaxation, and creative engagement as part of an overall approach to well-being.
